Here’s a great opportunity from Washington State University Vancouver, College of Business. The Business Growth Mentor & Analysis Program (MAP), is looking for marketing professionals interested in mentoring a student group for the spring semester.
Here’s a bit more on the program:
Business Growth MAP is a pro-bono, student-conducted analysis and consultancy program. In our Marketing 495 class the students conduct an analysis of a company’s customers, product-market and competition and create an actionable marketing plan. The student teams work under faculty instruction and with the support of volunteers. This gives the students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge and build business skills. At the same time, students help improve business insight and provide a realistic plan to move the small business forward.
The mentor works with both the student team and client to:
- Clarify the client needs
- Keep client engaged and assist with student interactions
- Ensures the student team addresses meaningful issues and guides the student to provide useful analysis
- Keep the students recommendations realistic
- Help the client understand and implement the analysis
Time commitment: About two hours a week over the course of the semester (January – April).
