Meet the Non-Profit: Friends of Portland Community Gardens

We are pleased to be partnered with a local non-profit, Friends of Portland Community Gardens, as part of our Community Outreach Program.

Friends of Portland Community Gardens was founded in 1985 and works to support and expand community gardening opportunities for all Portland-area residents to grow healthy food and build community.

For over thirty years, this flourishing organization has advocated for the community gardens of Portland by saving and improving existing gardens, as well as creating new ones.

Here are a few of the many community gardens in Portland:

  • Mt. Tabor Community Garden
  • Peace Community Garden
  • Kenton Community Garden
  • Gilbert Heights Community Garden

The FPCG team hopes to increase their number of volunteers, create a consistent image, and to develop donor relationships. In order to achieve these goals, they’ve applied to be a part of AMA PDX’s Community Outreach Program. Our team of volunteers is helping FPCG improve their website and build out a robust social media plan.

It has been a pleasure to work with this organization, and we look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in the Portland community!
