2022 Will Focus Aid on Organizations that Address Issues of Racial Justice as PDX Chapter Continues to Guide National Efforts

Portland, Oregon, December 8, 2021. AMA PDX is proud to announce the selection of their 2022 AMA PDX Agency nonprofit partners and once again asks the marketing community for volunteers to help realize their goals.

Since 2007, the Portland chapter of the American Marketing Association has provided professional marketing services to local nonprofit organizations to support initiatives, campaigns, or projects that would otherwise not be possible within the bounds of their limited marketing scopes; enabling organizations to propel their vital work in the community forward. The AMA PDX Agency partners for the coming year are:

AMA PDX has recently been recognized by their national body, The American Marketing Association as the top chapter nationally and a leader for their commitment to incorporating DEI in every aspect of the organization. For 2022, AMA PDX Agency has decided to focus attention on causes that are deeply rooted in justice and equity efforts within the Portland community.

“Our focus on racial justice for 2022 reflects AMA PDX’s organizational commitment to justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. It was also personally important to me to offer our support to organizations that are led by members of the communities most affected by the issues they work to address. I could not be more impressed with the applicant pool we had, and I believe in the visionary work our eight partners are doing in our community,” says Corinne Gould, director of AMA PDX Agency.

AMA PDX Agency has also inspired other chapters within the American Marketing Association to partner with nonprofits across the nation and is still looked to for guidance on how to implement similar partnerships and well as how to best provide support while also educating and empowering nonprofits after the completion of the projects.

AMA PDX Agency relies on marketing volunteers from across the industry in Portland. From business strategy and SEO to creative and design and invites those interested to apply. AMA PDX Agency hopes to expand their ability to support the community in the years to come.

“Our AMA PDX Agency teams empower our partner organizations to have more sustainable marketing and communications efforts, broadening their reach and increasing their impacts. I can’t think of a worthier way to build you network and develop new skills. We are welcoming marketing and communications professionals at all skill levels and are especially excited to work with folks who are looking to develop culturally-responsive communication and innovative marketing strategies.”

Since 1959, AMA PDX has brought together marketing professionals, from across Portland and the surrounding areas, through valuable professional development events, networking opportunities, and monthly luncheons. As our chapter grows, AMA PDX is committed to helping individuals and companies support diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry, beginning with centering and amplifying the voices of our black, brown, and indigenous communities (BIPOC). Together, we will use the power of our collective voices to outline the roles marketers can play in standing for and delivering on inclusion; the ideals, values, and principles that promote equality, respect, and unity.
